About the Artist and Her Work

My work is not a passive image; it is a heartbeat, a wound on the canvas of the world. I paint because words are insufficient, because reality is too narrow to contain what dwells within me. Each stroke is a cry, a question, an echo in memory.

I do not seek to please, but to confront. My colors resist, my textures are scars. I do not represent the visible, but what lies hidden beneath the everyday. My art demands a response, even if it is silence.

I paint from a place of urgency, from the need to portray the light and shadow of the human being. In each work, fragility and strength, doubt and certainty, the ephemeral and the eternal coexist. My painting is a reflection of this duality, an attempt to capture the ever-changing essence of our existence.

Brief Overview

Sol Barrios (Viña del Mar, 1980) is a self-taught visual artist working in oil, watercolor, photography, textile art, and muralism. An actress by profession and a painter by vocation, she specializes in figurative art, with a particular emphasis on portraiture. She has exhibited its artworks in Chile, Italy, and the USA and participated in important local art fairs such as FAXXI and Ch.ACO. Currently, she is dedicated to teaching and developing a series of paintings focused on communication between AI and humans.
